As expected, things are still evolving as scheduled. As a result, the Storm Prediction Center is preparing a tornado watch for portions of eastern North and South Dakota and western Minnesota. This is where explosive thunderstorms development is expected in the next 1-3 hours. These storms will be capable of all modes of severe weather including the potential for strong tornadoes.
What must also be monitored is how the storms interact with a warm front draped over the Upper Midwest. There is a potential for a prolonged event that stretches into the overnight hours bringing with it the threat of large hail and strong damaging winds.
We are monitoring the latest from the Storm Prediction Center and will bring you updates as soon as they are available.
