The Storm Prediction Center is sticking to its forecast. As a result, severe weather is expected to begin around 4pm. Before than, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch will likely be issued for a large portion of Minnesota. We expect this watch to be posted sometime around 3pm.
At this time, a cold front will begin pushing across the region, triggering a new round of severe weather this afternoon and evening. These storms, once they develop, are expected to be fast moving. Strong, damaging winds appear to be the primary threat from these storms. Large hail and an isolated tornado or two is also possible.
We are monitoring this situation and plan to bring you much more information as it becomes available.
