Friday everyone could get in on the severe weather action. The Storm Prediction Center has posted a large threat area which encompasses the entire state of Iowa. There is still some uncertainty over what any specific area can see, but much like this entire week, This appears to be yet another late evening/overnight threat for much of the state of Iowa.
Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to fire across areas of Nebraska late Friday afternoon and into the evening. These storms could spread to the east bringing severe weather to central and western portions of the state a little earlier than previous nights. We could also see a long duration wind event from storms that do develop. Large hail and strong winds will also be possible.
One other concern with the continued threat for severe weather is the growing potential for heavy rain. Severe inches of rain could fall this week over a large area. Depending on the severity of the rainfall and its location, area rivers may need to be monitored for potential flooding dangers.
Still another threat for severe weather exists on Saturday, for more on that click here.
