The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK is monitoring far eastern Iowa this afternoon for severe thunderstorm development. This is the area they are monitoring for a watch. With the cold front passing through this area, thunderstorms could develop in the next hour or two. The threat here in Iowa isn’t expected to last long as storms will quickly move into Illinois where the threat will continue into the evening hours.
We are monitoring the situation as strong winds, large hail and a brief tornado are all possible.
